It seems we often end up crafting sacred tools on high holidays. This Imbolc was no exception. We found some Spanish Lavender we hand gathered a couple years ago and it felt right to offer it to the fire and honor Brigid. At first, the fire just would not start. Thinking prayers were futile, I still said one anyway, asking the fire gods to bless us and help us release and transform the energy of this lavender. The moment I began speaking the words, the fire lit and took off fast and furiously. Well, here's me thinking prayers don't work... ha! They do. The kitchen of Misty Valley was filled to the brim with earthy, spicy, and floral smells of all kinds, for Peg & I were making Faerie Dust. This year, in addition to the original BLESSINGS blend recipe Peg was gifted by the Fae, we created 2 more kinds, LOVE and MONEY. Peg is often asked about how to use Faerie Dust. Here is her explaination.
How do you use Faerie Dust? I use Faerie dust as a private way to give thanks when I am out on a walk and encounter a connect to a particular tree or flowers or at the shoreline. I also use it to sprinkle in my door was to add a bit of fragrance and magic and welcome the Faeries. I use it to change the energy in parking lots at intersection where bad accidents have occurred or the energy feels frayed or disconnected. I have been known to sprinkle it with abandon on myself before heading into dreaded meetings or while visiting the DMV. Or even just for the giggles that seem to erupt after it is sprinkled.
